Cinnie Scronce

Hi, Cinnie’s mom here. After attending the Fashion Breathes Life benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation event the last two years presenting her painting for auction, our courageous Cinnie has proclaimed that she wants to “walk the runway”.

My husband, Josh, and I welcomed Cinnie in February of 2016. Days after the birth of our girl, we were settling into our new life when the phone rang. It was Cinnie’s pediatrician. He informed me that Cinnie’s newborn  screening showed genetic markers for cystic fibrosis. I immediately froze, not knowing much, if anything of the genetic disease he had just named.

A few days later we met with her care team where for the first time we were dealt with the harsh reality that is cystic fibrosis.  I was then informed that it is a rare genetic disease that primarly affects the digestive and respiratory systems by causing a build up of thick sticky mucus in the body. This slowly causes your organs to malfunction and then eventually, fail.

It entails hours spent every single day performing breathing treatments and airway clearance techniques in hopes to prevent long term damage to the lungs and poor weight gain. We were also met with the news that people with CF were on average living into their 30’s.

Cinnie does not let CF slow her down, she is spunky, funny, she runs, she falls down and scraps her knees, she’s tolerant, she’s brave, she’s sensational.

This year for Cinnie’s runway debut, we have a goal to raise $15,000.  You can help by joining us at the FBL event this year held on February 24th, 2024. All ticket sales purchased on her page will go directly towards Cinnie’s fundraising efforts.  If you’re not able to attend, a donation to the link below would be appreciated. Our family will also be hosting a music bingo event held at Primal Brewery in Belmont this coming January (details to follow). The CF community relies solely on the donations of generous and kind people such as yourself to help cure this disease for our kids. Thank you always to those who have supported this community in the past, present and future. Thank you!
