As you know through your participation with The Hollingsworth Richards Bert Jones Golf Classic, the journey to end cystic fibrosis isn't a straight line. It is an evolving map with many paths and unique challenges. It requires an ambitious research agenda to accelerate treatments and drug development for the underlying cause of the disease and ultimately deliver a cure.
Twenty-twenty has proven itself to be unlike any in recent memory, presenting us with new challenges. Since March, the CF Foundation has cancelled or postponed more than 800 in-person events.
But, this time in quarantine has challenged us to do what our community has always done adapt, persevere and push forward. The health and safety of the CF community and Foundation staff are our top priority. We have a responsibility to ensure that we are taking every precaution to minimize risk and maintain the standards required to protect attendees and our staff.
To this end, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Hollingworth Richards Bert Jones Golf Classic. While the COVID-19 pandemic has put the brakes on our in-person events, we cannot pause our mission to find a cure for all people living with cystic fibrosis. We know that no pace is fast enough when you or your loved one is living with the challenges of CF. That’s why community support remains vital. During times of uncertainty, your dedicated support gives us confidence as we stay on course to achieve our mission.
We are asking that you consider making your normal donation to our “Hole-In-None” Hollingsworth Richards Bert Jones stay-at-home golf event this year so we may stay the course during this time of volatility
