OUR CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION BIKE RIDE FUNDRAISER IS SATURDAY, JUNE 14!
WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU!
WE NEED AND REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!

To help motivate everyone, I’m hosting a bike ride fundraiser to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in Simsbury (3 routes below). Please join me if you can! Ride and donate or just donate. You don’t have to ride to donate. We would love to see you! I’ll buy you lunch at The Iron Horse Pub!

All monetary donations are encouraged, nothing too large or too small.  Some have already donated – a huge thanks!!  I will only ask you once a year to contribute to CFF.

Note – The Foundation has very low overhead expenses, so your money goes towards research and solutions, not salaries, and please note - a cure is within reach!  You’re not donating to a perpetual black hole!

Donations:
  • Donate online through this page
  • You can give cash or check on the day of the ride
  • Mail checks payable to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and send to:
Paul Mikkelson, 11 Whitcomb Dr, Simsbury, CT 06070

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! God Bless!

NOTE - This event is not sponsored or authorized by any company, non-profit, family or individual. It's just a fun ride to raise some money for CF patients. You are on your own as far as support, etc. goes. No sag vehicles, no anything, and absolutely no insurance! Insurance is not included! In an emergency, obviously seek help and call 911 ASAP! Your participation means you release everyone involved from all legal exposures and all civil exposures and ALL lawsuits!

As you may know, my wife Annie and I have two grandchildren, Tommy, 5 years old and Grace, 2 years old; both have Cystic Fibrosis.  Our daughter Liz Lockwood, her husband Mark, Tommy and Grace live six houses from us, in Simsbury CT.

So, we’re asking for your help, to help us raise money for research, to assist Tommy & Grace, so they can breathe easier, today and tomorrow.

What is cystic fibrosis (CF)?
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition, which means that it is something you are born with. Cystic fibrosis is known to cause your lungs to produce extra-thick, sticky mucus. This mucus builds up and clogs your airways. Even before symptoms present, people with cystic fibrosis develop mucus that is thicker and stickier than normal.

Healthy lungs: The lungs naturally produce a thin layer of mucus that helps protect the airways from dangerous bacteria that can cause infections.
Lungs affected by CF: For people living with CF, the mucus in the lungs is thicker than normal. This thick mucus can build up in the airways, allowing germs to thrive and become a source of infection and inflammation. Inflammation is caused by your immune system’s response to something harmful, and inflammation can lead to decreased lung function.
