Diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 3-months-old, Jeff Breslin knows first-hand and believes that pain and adversity are things we all face at different times in our lives. Whether physical, emotional, or mental, pain is not something we usually choose or control — especially when we’re kids. At the age of 12 Jeff began to understand that his pain, not of his choosing and outside of his control, might ultimately dictate the path of his life.
Around the same time that he gained perspective about his own circumstance, Jeff also learned the power of just one, simple, “YES”. It was shortly after his twelfth birthday, and he was in the hospital receiving treatment, when the Philadelphia Eagles’ star defensive tackle, Andy Harmon, gave him a call. Mr. Harmon’s statement was simple, but growing up a huge Eagles fan, you can imagine the impact of his words. Andy simply told Jeff, “everything was going to be okay.” Years later the two remained in touch, sharing little moments that shaped Jeff’s young life. Just one yes, by what was then a total stranger, changed Jeff’s perspective and ultimately laid the foundation for his belief in serving others — no matter how big or small the act may be — just one act, one YES, can alter a life forever.
With a humble and grateful perspective, Jeff Breslin has dedicated the past 15 years of his life to nonprofit management and corporate philanthropy. He has created, launched, and managed projects with the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, Under Armour, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore. Jeff is currently the Chief Executive of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore – a youth development organization reaching more than 500 young people across Baltimore.
In addition to his professional career, Jeff Breslin is a board member for the Maryland Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and was a committee member of Baltimore City Public Schools’ City Schools CEO Enrollment Task Force (2018). He has received notable honors including Baltimore Magazine’s 40 Under 40 Top Business Professionals (2013) and led Under Amour’s efforts which resulted in the brand being a finalist for the ESPN Sports Humanitarian Awards for Corporate Community Impact Award Honoree (2017 & 2018).
In his free time, you can find Jeff enjoying every second of being an uncle to nine awesome nieces and nephews, cheering on his Philadelphia Eagles or tackling a new recipe in the kitchen with his wife, Rebecca.
