It's hard to believe Chloe is 18 and headed off to college.
 

When she was born with cystic fibrosis 18 years ago, it was hard to imagine what would be possible for her—or what kind of future she would have.
 

For the first 13 years of her life, that future was shaped by daily treatments, frequent illness, and repeated hospital stays. By 2019, her lung function had dropped to around 65% when an opportunity came along to participate in a clinical trial for a groundbreaking genetic modulator. That trial changed the course of her life.
 

Over the next seven years, Chloe remained committed to clinical research. She could have left the trials once FDA-approved medications became available, but she chose to continue participating, helping advance three generations of these life-changing therapies. Her willingness to contribute to research has helped move the science forward—not only for herself, but for the entire cystic fibrosis community.
 

Today, Chloe's health is remarkably stable. During her high school years, she had just two hospitalizations, the last in 2023—the longest stretch without a hospitalization since she was four years old.
 

She continues to work hard every day to manage her disease, but her treatment burden has eased, and the grip cystic fibrosis once had on her life has loosened in ways we once only dreamed were possible.
 

As her parents, we remain cautiously optimistic. We've learned that cystic fibrosis can be unpredictable, and today's medications are not a cure. They have transformed Chloe's life, but they don't work for everyone—about 10% of people with cystic fibrosis still don't benefit from these therapies.
 

That's why our work isn't finished.
 

This year, as Chloe celebrates one milestone after another—turning 18, graduating from high school, and heading to Gonzaga University—we're approaching another milestone as a family: nearly $1 million raised to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
 

Every dollar has helped fuel the research that gave Chloe the chance to dream bigger than we ever thought possible. Simply put, she would not be where she is today without your generosity and belief in this mission.
