Friends and Colleagues,
Each year, I write to you asking for you make a donation to me in the fight against cystic fibrosis. Each year, you all are so generous, and I, along with everyone living with this horrible disease, can’t thank you enough!
For the last 16 years, I have been committed to finding a cure for CF. Do you know why? It was for a former colleague and friend of mine whose daughter was born with CF in 2009. I am so happy to tell you that Alexis is now in high school with the hopes of becoming a teacher when she graduates college. It was not too long ago that having a career of someone living with CF was unimaginable, but with so much of your support, that dream has become a reality. The median age of someone born today has a life expectancy of 61, an increase of 27 years since 2009. People, like Alexis, are living longer and healthier due to the amazing work of so many researchers and scientists. This research is only made possible with the help of the generous donations that you have made. But I can’t stress enough that this is not a cure.
Since I started volunteering with the CF Foundation in 2009, I became quickly committed to the fight because I couldn’t bear the thought of that being me, or worse yet, having a child that’s born with it. I currently sit on the Boards of both the Greater New York and New Jersey chapters, but what I am most proud of is being National Chair of the Tomorrow’s Leaders program, the CF Foundation’s national young professional program, which now includes over 1,200 young professionals, a growth of over 60% from just a year ago. This is not only a program I lead but also helped design for the CF Foundation. Why you ask? Because I realized years ago that to find a cure for this disease, it needs to include a cohort of people who could be committed shortly thereafter graduating college and can be cultivated to be the CF Foundation’s strongest volunteers!
So I ask you today, will you help me in my fight to find a cure? Will you help CF stand for Cure Found? In the words of Dr. Bob Beall, a former CEO, “Money buys science and science will buy a cure.” So I ask you, will you help me in finding a cure?

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has fueled dramatic improvements in cystic fibrosis research and care. Because of the Foundation, people with CF are living longer and healthier lives. The outlook for people with CF continues to improve year after year.
