Dear Family and Friends of Team Justin & Ross,
Over the past 27 years our family has participated in a variety of fundraisers for CF – and we appreciate all your support, both emotional and financial. Our largest annual fundraiser was Great Strides held every Spring and Team Justin & Ross always raised a great deal for CF research because of your generosity! Thank you!
Kim and I have been part of the committee that plans one of the Boston area’s largest CF fundraisers for 20 years--called “Uncork the Cure”. Last year we were asked to co-chair the Gala, and we are co-chairing again this year. We’ve decided that the Gala will now be our annual fundraising focus and we will be merging Great Strides and Uncork the Cure into one appeal each year, instead of two separate ones.
When we started fundraising for CF our goal was to find a cure, and that’s still our goal. Our boys have benefitted from the incredible advances in CF treatments – your support of our fundraising has helped spur those advances. While our family has benefited from those medical advances, many families have not. Twenty percent of CF patients can’t take the newest drugs, and many of the patients who can take the newest drugs still deal with other complications from CF (diabetes, liver damage an others). We’re not nearly done!
Please consider supporting the Gala. If you can attend, you’ll experience a special event – wine-tasting from dozens of vineyards who donate their wine, phenomenal food at the Omni Seaport Hotel (whose chef, unbeknownst to our committee when we chose the Omni as our new venue last year, is a CF dad!), and a presentation to honor individuals who are fighting CF and individuals who have made a huge difference for CF. Make a weekend of it – the Omni offers deeply discounted rates for an overnight stay.
