Fly Fishing Classic Competition Rules
1) Wading permitted
2) Strike indicators are permitted
3) Barbless hooks only
4) May use any conventional fly pattern of any dry, wet, nymph, streamer or terrestrial
5) NO lead-headed jigs or modified spinning lure-type flies will be approved
6) Competition is based on the team total. There will be team awards for 1st Place and Runner-up. 
7) You may fish up to 3 flies at any one time
8) Trout foul-hooked in the head (front of gill covers) counts. Behind covers DO NOT count. Head is defined as back of      gill cover to nose. Killed fish = NO POINTS. If the fly is swallowed, you MUST CUT THE LINE. The contestant may stay in the competition.
9) If the trout measures at the ½” mark or greater, it will be scored up to the next inch. Less than ½”, down to the nearest inch
10) You may NOT cast or drift a fly into an adjoining boat, even though you are standing within the boundaries of your beat. You may play a hooked trout into the water of an adjoining beat, so long as you remain standing within your designated beat
11) No one is allowed to walk within 15 feet along the side of the stream for ANY reason during the competition, EXCEPT for the contestants and guide within their designated beat
12) Guides may not assist in landing the fish. The angler must bring the fist to the guide for official measurement 
13) Anglers provide their own flies. The guides cannot provide flies. However, they may tie on flies supplied by you.
One point per inch up to, and including, 14”. Over 14”: 14 pts. + 3 pts for every 1” over 14”.
 (Example: 15” = 17 pts.; 16” = 20 pts, etc.).
Only trout score.
All ties will be broken based on the largest trout caught.
Beats will be chosen at random out of a hat to ensure equal opportunities.
