Our theme for our final year for Breath of Hope is gratitude. We will recount the incredible progress in our 18 years battling cystic fibrosis with the help of your generous investment. Our hearts are filled with gratefulness because what we now have was once among the things we only hoped for. All invited guests and donors who generously give $500 or more are invited to provide a submission to the Hope Book - Gratitude Collection. This year the Hope Book is a collection of inspirations about gratitude, a quote or thought for everyone in our community, not just those impacted by cystic fibrosis. Gratitude is an act of the heart’s affections.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has unrestricted financial reserves of about 10 times its 2023 operating budget. These reserves are largely a result of the Foundation's successful venture philanthropy model, through which we have raised and invested hundreds of millions of dollars to help discover and develop breakthrough CF therapies. These funds and any future revenue from our model are reinvested into the CF Foundation's mission to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with CF the opportunity to lead long, fulfilling lives.
