When my son Nick Capano was diagnosed at 18 months of age with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), the doctors told us Nick had a 50% chance of living until he was 30 years old. They told us with only 30,000 families diagnosed with CF the pharmaceutical companies don’t want to get involved cause there is no monetary return on their investment. 

With this information my late husband Sal Capano and I immediately started to fundraise with the CF Foundation along with all the other CF families  to help find the cure. After years of complicated CF symptoms, numerous medical treatments and hospitalizations, I feel blessed to say, at 25 years old, Nick is currently living a full and healthy life due to new science and medicine recently developed through the fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Unfortunately, this medicine is not currently available for everyone living with Cystic Fibrosis and it is my continued mission to help raise the necessary dollars in order to develop new treatments and pursue every opportunity for promising research that can lead to a cure for everyone with CF.

With the support of my neighbors, friends and sponsors here at Alina, we are excited to share our newly created intimate event for Alina Residents, Champagne & Roses for Cystic Fibrosis, sponsored by Champagne & Parisi Real Estate.

On Friday, February 16, 2024 from 7-11 pm we will celebrate Nick’s life by hosting a Valentine's Day themed party filled with live music, champagne, food, and super auction items at the Alina Lounge to raise funds and awareness and to show the love and support to our CF community.
