Dear Friends, Family and Other People,
I am again raising money to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) and hope you might support me for this particular event. LOL4CFF is a fun and entertaining show that features a comedy competition among stand-up novices, a headlining set from a nationally touring comedian, plus silent and live auctions, and a special guest speaker. It happens on August 9th at The Big Chill on E. Morehead St. in Charlotte beginning at 6 pm. The night itself is a blast but that is not my main point here.
This year the special guest speaker is actually ME! I get to tell the story of my family's journey of living with CF and hopefully educate, inspire and amuse folks to give generously to this very worthy cause.
Among other things, attendees will likely hear about the daughter who was busted as the pre-school drug dealer, the time I was profiled at a Cracker Barrel on I-40 and almost separated from my child, or the time Catherine coughed so hard she broke a rib!
They will also hear about the life changing advancements for those living with CF, the breakthroughs that have turned out to be "practically a cure" for almost 90% of CF patients, and the 10% we continue to fight hard for, which include Simmons and Catherine.
If you can, please support this latest effort to to find a cure for Simmons and Catherine and the thousands who are living with, but hopefully not dying from, Cystic Fibrosis.
