Welcome to my fundraising page!
I’m Casey’s girlfriend, and we’ve been together for just over two years. Along the way, I’ve learned more about cystic fibrosis than I ever imagined, and I’d love to share a little of our story.
On our very first date, we were out to dinner when Casey casually took a handful of pills before eating. He explained that he had a disease that required him to take medication with meals. Later that night, while recapping the date with a friend, I mentioned the pills as the only “unusual” thing that had happened—but I quickly brushed it aside because I knew I wanted to see him again.
A couple weeks later, when I visited Casey’s house for the first time, he told me there was something important he wanted to share. He asked if I had noticed anything unusual in his room. I looked around and saw a chest compression machine, nebulizers, and more medication bottles than I could count. That was when he explained that he has cystic fibrosis. He patiently answered every question I had and helped me understand what living with CF really means.
Two years later, I’ve attended CF events, gone with him to quarterly clinic appointments, and witnessed firsthand the daily challenges that come with this disease. I’ve also seen the incredible strength, resilience, and optimism that Casey and so many others in the CF community demonstrate every day.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has helped drive remarkable medical breakthroughs that have transformed lives. But there is still no cure, and approximately 10% of people with CF are unable to benefit from the life-changing medications that many others can take. Casey is a part of that 10% unable to benefit from the life changing medications. There is still important work to be done.
I hope you’ll join us at Brewer’s Ball for a fun and meaningful evening supporting this incredible cause. If you can’t attend, please consider making a donation. Every contribution, no matter the size, goes directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and helps fund research, care, and hope for a future where CF stands for Cure Found.
Thank you for your support—it means so much to us.
