Patrick Welsh
Friends and family,
I am supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and I invite you to join me at the event or make a donation to this event.
Most of you know that my wife, Piper Beatty Welsh, was born with #cysticfibrosis. Piper has fought this deadly disease for every day of her 42 years in this world, which is nearly double the life expectancy at the time she was born and diagnosed in 1981. For the last 9 1/2 years of our life together as husband and wife, I have been honored to fight alongside her. Together, she and I are pretty good at defying the odds (as she says, we're certainly stubborn enough!), but we still need your help.
For the past year I have served on the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Connecticut Board and prior to that served on the planning committee for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Rocky Mountain Chapter's #CFClimb, a seriously fun race to the finish at Mile High Stadium in beautiful Denver, CO. Please consider donating to my campaign to help #AddTomorrows for Piper and the 30,000 other children and adults living with CF in the US.
Piper constantly reminds me through her fight with CF (and multiple organ transplants, and a recent bout with cancer, and her strong desire to cook the world's perfect carrot cake) that nothing is impossible. Today I ask you to help me prove her right by joining us in the fight to make CF stand for #CureFound, and becoming a part of what many have already dubbed “the most exciting story in modern medicine.”
Cystic fibrosis is a rare, life-shortening, genetic disease found in about 30,000 people in the U.S., which causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breath over time. Those living with this disease are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers all struggling each day just to breathe and live normal, healthy lives.
Sixty-five years ago, most children with cystic fibrosis did not live long enough to attend elementary school, but thanks to Foundation-based research and care, many people with CF are now living into their forties achieving milestones once thought not possible, such as attending college, pursuing careers, and having a family of their own.
While there has been significant progress in treating this disease, there is still no cure and too many lives are cut far too short. By participating in Golf Challenge at TPC, a Paul Drury Original, I am helping add tomorrows to the lives of all people living with CF today.
Please make a difference and support me by donating to my CF fundraising campaign today!
And as Piper would say, thanks, beautiful people. We are so lucky to have you to support us in keeping our family and the CF Community strong and healthy -- today and for many tomorrows yet to come.
Thanks and all the best!
Patrick
