The Lowcountry RedTrout Celebrity Classic will proudly celebrate 19 years in 2020. This 30-boat inshore fishing tournament was started in 2002 by Champ Smith and Gary Ellis. This year, we celebrate Gary’s generous life, his love for fishing, and passion to find a cure for cystic fibrosis as a CF father and founder of the RedBone Tournament Series.
The Lowcountry RedTrout tournament has raised close to 2 million dollars for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Anglers and Guides take to the water Friday and Saturday for redfish and trout, all in the name to “catch a cure” for cystic fibrosis.
Every year, an individual involved with the tournament receives the Rob Shore Award. The award is named in memory of Rob Shore who lost his battle with CF in February 2013. This award is presented by Rob’s grandfather, Bob Royall. It is given to an individual involved who demonstrates leadership, enthusiasm, and a love for fishing.
We look forward to another fun weekend this November!
