Julia Rae: Julia Rae is a singer, actress, writer and patient advocate.

From a young age Julia knew she was born to sing and that she was born with a lung disease, cystic fibrosis (CF). While reconciling why she would be blessed with a voice and be faced with the challenges of CF, Julia decided to use her voice to find a cure. At the age of 16, she founded her own non-profit, Singing at the Top of My Lungs, to fund music therapy programs and empower children facing challenges. Singing at the Top of my Lungs has raised over 100 thousand dollars to fund music therapy programs for hospitalized children.

That same year, Julia created a music video and placed it on YouTube where it caught the eye of a record producer in Beverly Hills. “Be That Girl,” a song she recorded while in LA, was picked up as the feature song in the Brooke Shields, Kris Kristofferson movie The Greening of Whitney Brown.

Humbled by the ups and downs of trying to make it in Hollywood, at 18, and significant battles with her CF, Julia returned to the East Coast to attend Fordham University. Growing up performing in musical theater sparked Julia’s interest to tell stories on stage and on camera, so while at Fordham, Julia focused on broadcasting and acting. Upon graduation, Julia received the Fordham Senior Leadership Award.

After graduating from Fordham, Julia continued to pursue acting, singing and advocacy work. She co-wrote and produced her debut EP, Belle de Jour, and performed the National Anthem at NBA and MLB games. She acted in several national commercials for Toyota, Sealy, Jacuzzi, and David’s Bridal, among others. In 2020, Julia was selected as a performer in the ABC music competition series, Listen to Your Heart and placed in the top five.

In 2021, Julia was cast as Babs Whatling in the feature film Playing Through. Inspired by true events, the film tells a powerful story of adversity and determination, when two female golfers, Babs and Ann Gregory, the first black woman to play in a USGA national championship, collide at a golf tournament. Available now on Amazon.

Julia’s advocacy work continues today through her foundation. Julia has delivered keynotes on the impact of growing up with illness and the importance of patient-clinician partnerships at over 100 hospitals, fundraisers, and healthcare conferences. She was the co-creator and co-host of Making It Matter, a podcast for the Boomer Esiason Foundation highlighting the stories of those fighting CF. This is the third year Julia will partner with Vertex as co-creator, writer and host of the Uncommon Lungs podcast, putting the spotlight on the challenges families face in managing chronic illness.

Ryne Brashear - Nashville singer-songwriter.

Ryne was raised on a 200 acre cattle farm in Upton, KY. to the beat of country music. His first influences were his parents, who had a broad musical background from church to the local dive establishments in their rural community. This is the inspiration to the hit song "Small Town" on his new album due this spring. Ryne began cutting his teeth on country music by listening to country artists like Brad Paisley and Blake Shelton along with legends such as Charlie Daniels. As Ryne's musical interests progressed, his influences started to evolve into the traditional tunes of Alan Jackson, the sassy soulfulness of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and the grit and energy of Metallica. These eclectic musical genres have laced his chords and sounds that have secured his musical style and given new meaning to country rock. Ryne has had the privilege to open for Wynona Judd and share the stage with Travis Tritt, Kid Rock and Scotty McCreary. Ryne is currently working on his second studio album and new music videos for YouTube and CMT.
