Tau Tug
Alpha Tau Omega presents Tau Tug – an epic 15-on-15 tug of war tournament set in the heart of a massive mud pit at the ATO house's side yard.
It's good (not) clean fun, all in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
ATO has dedicated its fundraising efforts to this meaningful cause, transforming dirt into dollars that pave the way for medical breakthroughs for people with cystic fibrosis.
In 2024, over $116,000 was raised to further the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In 2025 we aim to raise $130,000 towards a CURE for cystic fibrosis.
ATO's Tau Tug event has benefited the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for over 10 years; inspired by ATO brother, John Pickering, who lives with cystic fibrosis.
When John's fellow brothers learned about his disease, they quickly committed to raising money in his honor, and helping to find a cure for CF.
John continues to be the driving force for UGA's ATOs.
With great hope and expectation, ATO is dedicated to finding a cure not only for John but for every person living with CF.
Since Tau Tug began contributing to the CF Foundation, incredible progress has been made for people with cystic fibrosis. When John was born, he wasn't expected to live to be 18 years old. But, because of incredible science being funded through the CF Foundation, John's life is more than he dreamed.
The progress of the CF Foundation is a testament to the efforts of events like Tau Tug and those who are working tirelessly for a cure.
ATO is committed to a cure until CF stands for Cure Found.
