I never expected to be campaigning for Prom Queen at this stage of my life, but here we are. 😂 And this is one crown I REALLY want because the way to win is simple: raise as much money as possible for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

And for me, that couldn't be more personal.

Our son, Amos, has cystic fibrosis.

But CF is only one small part of who Amos is. He's silly, easy-going, loves books and puzzles, and brings so much joy to our family. Most days, he's just a kid doing kid things but behind the scenes, CF is always there.

Life with CF means daily medications, treatments, appointments, and a whole lot of things that most kids and families never have to think about. As his mom, I would give just about anything to take that part of his life away. That's why the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation means so much to our family.

The progress that has been made in CF treatment gives us so much hope for Amos's future. We get to dream BIG for him. We want him to grow up, find the next book he can't put down, solve increasingly complicated puzzles, make us laugh, and have all the wonderfully ordinary experiences that come with a long, full life.

And we want a future where CF doesn't get a say in any of it.

So, naturally, I'm going to do my part by...trying to become Prom Queen.

I'm "competing" with some wonderful people to see who can raise the most money for CFF through Dance Until It's Done. Of course, I'd love the crown and the bragging rights that come with it but what I'd love even more is to use this opportunity to raise as much as I possibly can for a cause that has already made such a difference in our son's life and gives us so much hope for his future.

Every dollar gets me a little closer to that crown, but more importantly, it helps move us closer to what we really want: more birthdays, more adventures, more books and puzzles, more silly moments, and a future where CF stands for Cure Found.
