In 2020, three adults living with cystic fibrosis: Marissa Benchea, Somer Love, and the Chair of the Board of Trustees, KC White, were inspired to create an event to unite the CF community and help advance the Foundation’s mission through fundraising. 

They wanted this event to be accessible to all, and for participants to be able to choose their own activity. With this mindset, they began ROSE UP, a mission-driven fundraising event that honors the 65 Roses story. 

In addition to participants being able to choose whatever activity they wanted, they also had the ability to choose where they could participate — whether that was at home, with family and friends, or online.   

The CF community quickly rose to the challenge, and over the past several years they have come up with dozens of ways to participate — from painting, baking, head-shaving, dancing, cookouts, singing, games, and so much more. 
Today, ROSE UP has raised more than $1.8 million to fuel the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation: to cure cystic fibrosis and provide all people with CF the opportunity to lead long, fulfilling lives. Now in its fifth year, Chad Riedy, Andrew Sabatino, and Lydia Sand are leading the ROSE UP Committee.
