I ROSE UP for all people with CF
Kate Kelley
I am excited to share I am participating in ROSE UP on October 24, 2024.
ROSE UP, now in its fifth year, is a virtual fundraising event created and led by adults with cystic fibrosis to bring the CF community together to advance the mission to find a cure and to improve the quality of life for all people living with CF.
ROSE UP participants are encouraged to choose an activity that is meaningful to them to accomplish on ROSE UP day. That activity could be running, walking, painting, baking, head shaving, dancing, and so much more!
As many of you know (or if you don’t, now you know why I don’t drink 🙃), I was diagnosed with CF in 8th grade. A lot of my biggest and best life decisions have been made around my CF, such as why I am a nurse or how I got pregnant with twins. I am also really good at hiding my CF issues and not letting them get in the way of living my life normal each day. The more the years go by and my twins get older, I want them to understand CF and give them a chance to learn about other illnesses that may affect family or friends and become compassionate people. This year I’ve decided to become involved again with the CF community. For ROSE UP, I will do 65 jumping jacks every day starting on 10/1, until ROSE UP day 10/24. It is a way to show how grateful I am that I able to exercise without restrictions and always a good reason to hold me accountable to get in shape and raise money! Why 65 jumping jacks you ask? “65 roses” symbolizes cystic fibrosis.
Our goal this year is to raise $555,000! You can help us reach our goal by donating today and helping to spread the word to friends and family.
Recognized globally, the CF Foundation has led the way in the fight against cystic fibrosis, fueling extraordinary medical and scientific progress. Working alongside the CF community, the Foundation has fostered the development of more than a dozen CF treatments – an unprecedented number in a short span of time -- and helped add decades of life for people with CF.
Despite this progress, many people with CF currently do not benefit from existing therapies.
I am proud to be part of ROSE UP this year along with others in the CF community who dream of the day when CF stands for Cure Found. Please join me in supporting ROSE UP!
Whether you make a donation, raise awareness about CF by sharing your story and tagging #ROSEUPCF on social media, or do both – you are making a powerful difference for people living with CF. Thank you for your support!
Let’s ROSE UP together!
