Our lives today look very different than they did just a few months ago. The upheaval of the pandemic has had devastating effects on our way of life, our health and well-being, our jobs and schools and so much more. And in our beloved Houston community, we have been doubly hit with the decline in the oil and gas industry.
As you might expect, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s fundraising has also been negatively impacted.
The Foundation anticipates raising only about half of what was raised in 2019. But as one mom of a child with CF said, “CF didn’t stop during COVID and neither can we stop fundraising”.
While cancelling the Shoot for the Cure event this year was a tough decision, we feel it was the right decision considering everything. We sure missed being with everyone and are already looking forward to Shoot 2021!
We are so committed to raising the funds needed to support the Foundation’s mission that we will offer a $12,500 challenge match for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Texas Gulf Coast Chapter’s efforts.
Specifically, all donations from $1 to $12,500 generated for Shoot for the Cure beginning October 26, 2020. The match will end either when the match is reached or on December 15, 2020, whichever comes first. Any monies received above the match amount will be applied to the mission of the CF Foundation.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has made extraordinary progress for those living with cystic fibrosis, but there is not yet a cure. It will take many years and substantial investment to realize our dream of finding a cure so that every person with CF can live their best possible life.
Having beautiful, healthy children and grandchildren continues to intensify our passion to make CF stand for Cure Found.
Our sincere thanks,
